Mel is a very happy baby. Smiling and cooing all the time. She usually goes to bed about 10pm and is usually good about bedtime. However, she seems to always wake about once in the middle of the night. We hear her making noises (not really crying, just "talking" or a little fussing) so we usually go in to binkify her. We've decided that's probably not a good thing to do so starting Friday (when Dan is home for a straight week) we're going to let her try and get herself back to sleep. If she's still awake after 10 minutes or so, we'll go in to soothe her, but we're not going to give her the binky.
Here's the thing, she's so darn cute in the middle of the night. You walk in there to soothe her and she sees you and smiles and laughs like it's time to play. It's 4:30 in the morning baby girl, you shouldn't be this awake, it's sleeping time! I'm a little worried this is a sign of a future party girl:) Look for a future blog post with an update on how our "letting Mel soothe herself back to sleep" goes.
Below is a cute picture from this morning. I think she's doing the Macarena:)
