Bean's 20 Week Picture

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and the Bean is looking great! Weighing in at 13 ounces, with a heartbeat in the 160's, all looked good. They wrote down the gender and sealed it in an evelope. We are mailing to friends, so they will be the only ones to know until our little one arrives.

Unfortunately, the doctor I saw yesterday was the kind to give you all the worst cast scenarios...not my cup of tea. He's not my normal doctor and he's not in the practice where I go, so I don't have to see him often, just for items like the ultrasound screenings because of my high risk (being 35). Turns out I have PP, which is a low lying placenta. Luckily, mine is not covering the cervix and it's just close to it. They expect for it to move away from my cervix as the uterus stretches, they just have to continue to monitor me. So, I have to go back to him (ugh) in 4-6 weeks for another ultrasound to see if it's moving away. I guess it's really less than a 10% chance that it will cause a problem, but then he laid out all the issues that it could cause...not too happy to hear those.

Along with that, he basically said I'll definitely deal with the symphisis issue again and to just expect it. I told him I was having a c-section and he said that doesn't have anything to do with it and there is no reason for me to have one...but that's btw my doctors and me. It's obvious he's against C-Sections. While I realize the symphisis issues comes on during pregnancy, it can be aggrevated and cause more issues during the birthing process, so I disagree with him there. I've read up on it. Anyways, that's not his decision. If it turns out my PP doesn't resolve, I'll have to have a C-Section anyways.

Either way, we're so happy to see our little one again! Below is the latest picture.
