Christmas 2012!

Christmas was a whirlwind this year. With a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old, I'm not sure I even remember it:) We hosted Christmas Eve at our house which was nice. It was a Roehl Christmas and all of the immediate family were in town. We went to the Children's Christmas Eve service at 5, then back to our house where we served beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and caprese salad. All in all, the dinner turned out pretty well. The kids behaved and it was fun to have everyone here.

Christmas morning we woke up and brought the girls down. My parents were in town as well (they spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my Mom's family, but were here for Christmas morning). It was fun to watch Carmella open her gifts. She was so excited about the crayons and coloring books in her stocking, it was difficult to get her to move on to the other gifts. Roni was just enjoying the ride! After they opened up their kitchen, they had fun playing in it. They received so many awesome gifts from family, goodness are they spoiled! We got to Mom and Dad Roehl's about 10:20am. That's when the kids broke through the wrapped entryway to the living room and dug in to the room full of presents. We took a break for brunch, and back to present opening. Everyone got such nice gifts and it was great to see everyone and catch up. Amazingly, both of the girls took good naps. I expected Roni too but was sure Mella wouldn't. Wow, was I wrong, she put herself down for a nap:)

The day after Christmas, Mike, Jenn, Chase and Ryann came up and stayed for a few days. While it's a houseful, we love it! Chase and Ryann had gotten iTouches for Christmas, so that was definitely their go to gift to play with while they were here. Ry was awesome with Carmella and played in the kitchen with her. The kids (minus Roni) also braved the cold and snow to build Carmella's first snowman. Really, Chase did all the heavy lifting and he did a great job! Grandma and Aunt Jenny were ready when the kids came in and had hot chocolate waiting!

It was a great Christmas 2012!
